New Moon Smile Revisited

New Moon Smile is a quaint collection of both covers and originals. The covers are an original take on classic rock songs. "Let It Be Me" has always been one of my favorite songs, and I love the soft take the band did on it. "You’re a Friend of Mine" is a very fun and upbeat song, and the special guest appearances on the track add a comedic element to the song. The band’s rendition of "Calico Skies" is the most soothing track on the album. Its soft melodies and the signature guitar riffs were executed perfectly in this cover.

The original songs are where the album really shines. "New Moon Smile" is a very catchy tune that makes you want to dance. The long instrumental interlude that breaks up the track is very spunky and is very soothing to listen to. "Jodi’s Shoes" is a dynamic song that seems to change tempo and beats throughout. It is a lyric journey that sounds like it was recorded by a bunch of guys having fun. The instrumental portion of the track is incredible. "Jodi’s Shoes" is the most fun and exciting song on the album.

All in all, New Moon Smile is a collection of covers true to the originals while simultaneously injecting new life into the songs. It is a great listen, and the band did an outstanding job on both the covers and original songs!
