THHB's Axman Meets the Smithereens

On June 1, the Smithereens performed the first show in their home state of New Jersey since the untimely passing of lead singer/songwriter Pat DiNizio in December 2017. Guest vocalist Marshall Crenshaw handled the singing duties backed up by remaining members: Jim Babjak (Guitar), Mike Mesaros (Bass) and Dennis Diken (Drums). They played a full set of Smithereens songs to a packed and enthusiastic crowd. The band has vowed to keep the music alive using guest vocalists going forward.
